Happy Birthday Grandma and Grandpa!

We celebrated Grandpa's 87th birthday and Grandma's 85th birthday this weekend! It was a big celebration especially for Grandma this year! Amazing all that she has been through and still here to celebrate with us! We are all more then a little thankful! She continues to battle her cancer and has recently started Chemo again. They are trying a new type of Chemo that is less often. I am anxious to see how it goes. In the mean time though, she feels great, is golfing and truly living life to the fullest. We had a great time being with the family (something we haven't done in awhile), laughing, eating and catching up. Happy Birthday to two of the sweetest people around!

We had visitors at the door..... L to R...Taylor, Trey, Emilie, John and Maddie

Us Myers always have to have some ordeal going on...this was taken about 15 minutes prior to us realizing that Taylor had a 102 temperature :)

These 3 rallied after a fun Halloween party the night before!

And what's not to love about this cutie?

Let the Halloween Fun Begin!

Wow! A busy, yet extremely fun weekend! Here's how it went: Taylor didn't have school on Friday and Dave and I had already taken the day off from work because Maddie girl had to have her 4 back teeth filled due to sugar bugs (Yes, we do brush her teeth- the poor girl has no enamel on her teeth.) so Maddie, Dave and I spent the day at the dentist ; everything went GREAT and Mads was back to her normal self by about 7 o'clock that night. Taylor spent the day at a swimming party- a boy swimming party. She and two other girls were invited...I asked her if she was going to wear her bikini and I got this: "MOM, NO! Rylan is going to be there". Quite cute! Our Saturday was even more packed- the girls were invited to a neighborhood Halloween party, Cougar Football was on and I went to Portland for a Stampin Up convention. The girls had a blast playing games, eating candy and dressing up. Dave didn't seem to upset by the Coug loss (it was only 10 points!) and I had an amazing time in Portland! I got to spend 8 hours doing something that is fun and relaxing- make cards, scrapbook pages and visit! It was inspiring to be with people who enjoy being creative and I actually learned some fun new techniques and also got to learn about some business type things as well. (By the way, check out my new blog- a stamping blog! tandmcards.blogspot.com

Fancy Nancy and Maddie the Witch!
Now here I sit, Maddie is asleep, Taylor is being ready to and I'm exhausted! Why you might ask? Oh, lets see...we carved pumpkins, made sugar cookies, did homework, laundry and went to another Halloween party! It was a day full of fun and when we asked Maddie what her favorite part of her day was she said: "All of it!" That makes me happy! Even though I still have laundry to fold, lunches to pack and the house is a mess that simple statement makes it all good!
Yummy!
This is the first year that both the girls would touch the inside of the pumpkins!
Dave and I both agreed that this was the smoothest, fastest year we've had for carving pumpkins...We didn't do all the work :)
The finished product!
All the kids at the party!
I love this picture! These 4 girls are such great friends! Love them all!
It's a scarecrow!
and a cat!
I love this picture! Maddie got red paint all over her costume so here she is in Maddie fashion...capri's, a favorite sweatshirt and her flip flops!

The Corvette

Dave and Carolyn have found a neighbor that loves working on cars and has been working on the corvette- don't ask me what he's been fixing- I just know that it's been exciting for Dave! I had to post these pictures from the end of the summer of he and Maddie going for a ride together. PrIcElEsS!

Carseat and a Baby doll....you can't beat that!

Maddie is a lot like her daddy- she loves to go fast in the corvette!

First Day of School Pictures...in October :)

Carolyn and Jerry arrived back home this week and so we finally got to see the pictures they had taken of Taylor on her first day of first grade! All I can say is where did the time go? Love this girl!

Ready to head to school!

Accessories are essential in first grade...backpack, water bottle, lunch box, silly bands, notepads...

Taylor and Katrina waiting for Mrs. Bond to pick them up!

I love this picture! Two best friends after a long day at school!

We are so proud of you Taylor!

Rock Climbing!

Taylor was invited to her friend's birthday party this weekend at a new place in downtown Olympia called the Warehouse Rock Gym. It ended up being such a neat place! Taylor was very nervous to go- she thought she wouldn't be very good at climbing and of course ended up having a blast! Maddie even got to participate as they needed extra parent hands to help all the kids. It was something that I wouldn't think to do with my own kids and so it was a great experience for them. They both left wanting to come back again! We have had a busy weekend already and tomorrow seems to be packed as well. Dave went to Pullman today for the Coug game, the girls and I ran errands, found Halloween costumes (we decided on a witch for Maddie and Fancy Nancy for Taylor), played outside in the gorgeous fall weather and even managed to squeeze in a few loads of laundry. Maddie has a birthday party to go to at the Children's Museum for a friend from her Pre-K class tomorrow and I'm even cooking a turkey- I'm hungry for Thanksgiving dinner! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Taylor attempted to climb the wall...she quickly found out she didn't like going too high and that repelling down was much more fun :)

I love this picture! These two are just the best of friends and I love how they are looking at one another! Taylor and Katrina.

This was one of Maddie's favorite hang outs of the day! Upside down!

Maddie loved the harness but didn't want to use it to climb the wall- she stuck to safer grounds!

Taylor busy climbing!

Monthly Friday Night Meal!

I think we have a good thing going on! Friends from the neighborhood decided that we would try out a once a month Friday night meal together. In September, we went to the Meconi's house and had a Taco Bar. It was the first Friday right after school had started. I can't tell you how nice it was to shred some cheese (our contribution) and head over to the house and have a yummy dinner together. It was quite comical though because everyone was WIPED out; kids and adults from our first week back at school. Last night, Dave, the girls and I hosted for October. We made our yummy White Chicken Chilli and everyone else brought something tasty to go along with it. I can't tell you how fun it is to just be able to sit, relax and catch up! The kids are all so close that they literally run into the house and disappear until it's time to leave. I love it. I feel so lucky to have met all these amazing people!

I leave you with a picture of almost all the kids. Ellie and Addy were at a football game last night but otherwise everyone else was present. Trying to get them all to sit still was rather comical! Happy Weekend everyone!

From L to R.... Mateo, Ava, Kennedy, Mason, Maddie and Taylor in the back!
